Are you left or right eared?
New York Times online, September 14, 2004. "The Right Ear is From Mars" (Science, Sept. 10, 2004)
Everybody knows that people are either left-brained (analytical) or right-brained (creative). Now, scientists tell us we can be
left-eared or right-eared. The difference between the two starts before information ever enters the brain. The ears themselves are biased.
Right ears understand speech better than the left ones. And left ears hear music better. This finding could make a difference in the
treatment of hearing loss and in the way partly deaf children are schooled.
